Lara pulled over and officers arrested him on suspicion of attempted murder, kidnapping, burglary and other charges, police said. The CHP, along with Corning police farther south, gave chase, reaching speeds of more than 100 mph for a stretch of about 10 miles, the agency said. A CHP officer spotted Lara speeding on southbound I-5 near Red Bluff and tried to stop his vehicle.
